This presence is continously growing.  The small and medium-sized manufacturing industries are diversified and serve both local and international markets.  Such industries include fish processing and crafts, marine craft, windows, caskets, plastics, offshore lighting and metal fabrication.

Examples of the manufacturing sector are as follows:

Weather Shore Windows Inc., located in Trepassey produces a variety of vinyl windows designed for extreme weather conditions, marketing locally and internationally.

The small and medium sized manufacturing and processing sector fits within the targeted sectors identified by the federal and provincial governments.

Seven fish processing plants, five of which process snow crab. These plants are supplied primarily by fish harvesters who live on the Irish Loop and who can fish throughout the year from ice-free ports. All plants are owned by Newfoundland and Labrador companies, mostly based outside the Irish Loop.
